The Chariot Collective is pleased to present their Vancouver Fringe offering, The Chariot Cities. One part folk concert, one part family drama, The Chariot Cities is inspired by the work and lives of musical families like Canadian music legends the Wainwrights. Ever since Jack Stackhouse and Wendy Brownlee met thirty years ago, they’ve been better at being a band than a family. Now their kids are grown with music careers of their own and they all need to figure out how to be more than just a band. They’re getting clean, coming out and going home.

The play features seven original songs by local singer-songwriter Bryan Binnema, as well as a cast of musically gifted actors, led by Jeff Gladstone. With three Jessie Award nominations and a Canadian Comedy Award nomination, Gladstone expanded his repertoire further with the release of his debut album, Hell of a Girl, in April. In The Chariot Cities, Gladstone combines all of his talents -- acting, singing, and playing guitar, bass, harmonica and percussion -- as folk icon Jack Stackhouse. Gladstone is joined on stage by Alison Lynne Ward (1/4 Life Crisis – Audience Choice Award NYC), Steven Greenfield (The Spitfire Grill, West Side Story, Titanic), Chris King (The Buddy Holly Story, 42nd Street, Anything Goes), and Fringe operations manager Shantini Klaassen (The Sound of Music – Ovation Award, The Great American Trailer Park Musical).
