THE MARLOWE Studio's first show of the year offers a glimpse into the soul of one of our greatest literary geniuses.

Wilde Without The Boy is a dramatic interpretation of De Profundis, the letter Oscar Wilde wrote to his lover, Lord Alfred Douglas, from his cell in Reading prison. Two years previously, Wilde had been imprisoned for acts of gross indecency with other males.

Gerard Logan stars as Wilde, alone, scared and thinking of his lover. Logan is an Olivier-nominated actor, and winner of The Stage's Best Solo Performer (2011, The Rape Of Lucrece).

Wilde Without The Boy is at The Marlowe Studio, Canterbury, at 8pm on Thursday 15 January. Tickets cost £12 (concessions available; booking fee applies) and are from the Box Office on 01227 787787 or marlowetheatre.com. It is recommended for those aged 14 and over.
