Work is well underway at the Urdang Academy's new building in Islington, London. The fit-out is now in its final stages and on target to finish at the end of May, in good time for Urdang's 2014 intake of talented students. The project is really taking shape and the building is coming to life as it nears completion.

Urdang have collaborated with the leading retail/leisure specialist architects and designers, Caulder Moore, who have ensured that every prerequisite is covered when designing this innovative venue for cutting edge performing arts training. Despite its current unfinished state, the entrance alone is already flooded with natural light thanks to huge floor to ceiling windows. Just a stone throw away from Angel and within walking distance of the tube and main bus routes, this state-of-the-art purpose built venue will be a definite landmark for performing arts in Central London.

When Urdang2 opens its doors, months of hard work and meticulous planning will be unveiled including 9 studios and 6 singing/practice rooms, all acoustically treated and fully equipped with mirrored wall, electric keyboard, PA sound system and finished with Harlequin spring floors.

Solange Urdang, Managing Director, comments, "There is a real buzz around the college in anticipation of the imminent opening. As the date draws nearer you can really imagine this gorgeous building coming to life. The additional venue is a strong statement for Urdang in contrast to our historical roots. It will take us to the next level and provide a fresh, contemporary space for our students to train in."

Urdang2 is ideal for studio hire, with a range of facilities from intimate private singing rooms to large ballet halls. Contact Dora on 0203 4418267 or email urdang2@theurdangacademy.com who will be arranging weekly tours of the building for interested parties.
