Arthur, Rachel, Sophie and Tommy are real people, determined to make a splash in the delectable world of 'constructed reality'. Snubbed by Brat Camp, Bake Off and even How Clean Is Your House, they've concocted their own scandalous game-show instead: a foolproof opportunity to show casting directors what they're capable of. And you're not just invited. You're invaluable.
Fresh from highly successful runs at Camden People's Theatre, Warwick Arts Centre and the Rosemary Branch, new Warwick University alumni theatre company, Tit4Twat, make their Fringe debut with their hit interactive show LOSERS.
Over eight explosive rounds, from the downright ridiculous to the uncomfortably intimate, the wannabes will dance, sweat, strip, gulp and gag for your approval. Equipping the audience with electronic voting handsets, increasingly important decisions - which will affect the performers long after the curtain comes down - are entirely in the audience's hands. As things soon start to take a dark turn, it's safe to say the performers have far more to be worried about than simply forgetting a line.
Blurring lines between interactive theatre, live art and cabaret, LOSERS turns the spotlight on the dubious ethics of reality TV. And in a world where a reality TV star can become president of the United States, the stakes are higher than ever.
Audiences are cordially invited to sit in the dark, press some buttons and watch the consequences unfold. Because each time one contestant's propelled closer to stardom, the others plunge further and further into oblivion. Come on. It wouldn't be fun if they didn't.
