Tickets for the annual London theatre initiative Kids Week are now on sale with the exciting line-up of more than 30 shows offering free tickets and activities for children & families 1 - 31 August 2013.

Now in its 16th year and run by the Society of London Theatre (SOLT), Kids Week is all about encouraging young people to experience the magic of live theatre. During Kids Week a child aged 16 or under can go free to participating shows when accompanied by an adult paying full price. Up to two extra children's tickets may also be purchased at half price.

SOLT President Mark Rubinstein said "Starting as just a week and now spanning a month, Kids Week has firmly established itself as a key date in the West End's calendar. We're looking forward to throwing open our doors and welcoming young audiences to what, for many, will be their first taste of a West End show. With free events and activities alongside the tremendous range of plays, musicals, and dance shows on offer, it is fantastic to see that Kids Week is back and bigger than ever'.

The shows taking part in Kids Week 2013 are: The 39 Steps, Billy Elliot the Musical, The Bodyguard, Brainiac Live!, A Chorus Line, The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time, Dinosaur Zoo, Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story on Stage, Disney's The Lion King, Fences, The Golden Voice, Horrible Histories - Barmy Britain, Jane Eyre - Shanghai Ballet, Jersey Boys, The Ladykillers, Let It Be, Mamma Mia!, Matilda the Musical, LES MISERABLES, Monty Python's Spamalot, The Mousetrap, Once, One Man, Two Guvnors, The Phantom Of The Opera, Rock Of Ages, The Sound Of Music, Stomp, Thriller Live, Top Hat, War Horse, We're Going On A Bear Hunt, West Side Story, We Will Rock You, Wicked, and The Woman In Black (all shows subject to availability; certain shows and performances have very limited ticket availability; age suitability guidance is on the Kids Weekwebsite).

Chris Edmonds, Chairman of Ticketmaster UK, said: "Last year was a phenomenal year for Kids Week, as the initiative broke all of its records selling nearly 130,000 tickets. We're very proud to be working alongside SOLT in what is our twelfth year as a partner for Kids Week. It's great to see such a promotion do so well, encouraging younger generations to get into the theatre and we look forward to an even more successful 2013."

Kids Week also has a fantastic range of free activities and events, many new ones and others back by popular demand! Lucky children can try their hand at ballet with Billy Elliot or tap dance with Top Hat and learn classic pop songs with the cast of Let It Be and Jersey Boys. Little ones can enjoy pre-historic puppetry with Dinosaur Zoo and, for older children who are feeling brave, there's the opportunity to take part in an interactive workshop to explore the classic ghost story The Woman In Black.

Tickets for Kids Week, which will run for the whole of August, are now on sale at www.kidsweek.co.uk and by telephone 0844 248 5151 supported by Ticketmaster with no booking or postage fees.
