THE CRUCIBLE

Parallels between Salem’s infamous witch-hunt and 1950s McCarthyism have been studied in schools across the world.

But the play resonates just as strongly today, in our post-9/11 society of religious fanaticism and fear. Miller’s tale is one about the dignity of The Common man, set against a backdrop of mindless persecution.
