The award-winning one-woman play, This Is My Body, will come to Exeter in March and will be directed by Exeter Northcott Theatre's Artistic and Executive Director, Paul Jepson.

There are "reasonable grounds" to suspect that a Romanian woman, who has been working as a prostitute in the UK, is the victim of human trafficking. She is given 45 days to "reflect and recover". But will this be enough time to come to terms with the horrors she has endured?

This Is My Body is a powerful new one-woman play which toured the UK in 2014, including a performance at the St James Theatre in London. Written by Martin O'Brien, directed by Paul Jepson and performed by Agata Jarosz, it uncovered the shocking reality of human trafficking in the UK, and the failures of the system to adequately respond to and support the victims.

This Is My Body won the Best Stage Production Dealing with Modern Slavery award at the Anti-Slavery Day Media Awards in 2015.

Audience acclaim for the play:

"An immensely powerful portrayal of a young woman's struggle to face the reality of her situation."

"A profoundly important piece of theatre. Deeply meaningful and thought-provoking with an incredible performance at its core. This needs a wider audience!"

"Heartbreaking. A dreadful tragedy"
