Sell A Door Theatre Company is announce the full tour dates and casting for their original adaptation of KIDNAPPED by Ivan Wilkinson. The tour is the first in three Robert Louis Stevenson adaptations the company has committed to from 2014-2016. It will kick off in January and runs through May 2014.

"If life were easy, where would all the adventures be...?"

An adventure tale for all the family, Kidnapped tells the story of Davie Balfour as he survives shipwreck and murder to dramatically escape to the Highlands of Scotland.

Set against the fierce social and political backdrop of 1750s Scotland, this gripping, fast paced adventure story is packed full of physical storytelling and imagination.

Kidnapped opens at Sell A Door Theatre's Scottish home, The Beacon Arts Centre in Greenock before visiting a venues up and down the country including the Coventry Belgrade, Hackney Empire, Swansea Grand, Yvonne Arnaud, Theatre Royal Windsor and the Birmingham Alexandra Theatre.

Artistic Director David Hutchinson says, "This is our longest tour to date, and we are delighted to be visiting a host of new venues, as well as returning to venues that we have been visiting for over four years. It is the first of a very exciting trilogy of Robert Louis Stevenson's work, one of the most translated authors in the world who defined the modern adventure tale."

Sell A Door Theatre Company are thrilled to be bringing Kidnapped to Greenwich Theatre as part of their Easter children's festival, having recently announced their formal partnership.

Casting for the production has also been announced.

The cast will be led by Stewart McCheyne in the role of David Balfour. He will be joined by Jamie Laird (Older David, Hoseason), Simon Weir (Alan Breck), Lesley Cook (Mrs Balfour, Ransome, Margaret Stewart and Mungo Campbell), and Christopher Anderton (Alan Balfour, James of the Glens, Cluny MacPherson and Ebenezer Balfour).

Director Anna Fox says "I am delighted to have such a strong and versatile cast to embark on this exciting process with. Kidnapped is a unique storytelling experience; full of fun, adventure and imagination that I cannot wait to bring to life."
