Muses are not easy things to have around...especially when they appear in the form of an assy, brassy Texas cowgirl so starved for sex she molests dwarves, sucks the fingers of perfect strangers and incites stray dogs to gather in the street. What's a tough-guy writer from Chicago to do? Jump out the window of his fancy Paris hotel room, of course. Only this girl can always do him one better...

Second Skin Theatre presents the World Premiere of ANGELA UNBOUND to the Leceister Square Theatre as part of London Fringe, 2010.

Dates for the production are August 4th through the 29th, Wednesday - Sunday.  Tickets are £12/10.  For more information, please visit www.leicestersquaretheatre.com or www.secondskintheatre.co.uk.

ANGELA UNBOUND was written by company co-founder and Writer-in-Residence William Whitehurst, who himself spent four years in Paris battling his Muse and studying the work of the great French farceurs. Accolades include MOSSHEAD (Best New Play, Theater League of South Florida), MENAGE A TROIS (Best Play, Eclectic Theater of Los Angeles Hurricane Season), and KNUCKLEBALL (Best Play and Best Production, San Francisco International Fringe).

The play is directed by company co-founder and Artistic Director Andy McQuade, whose directing credits for Second Skin include a sell-out revival of Oscar Wilde's SALOME ("a daring and adventurous production" Camden New Journal), a double-bill of KNUCKLEBALL and STAY WITH ME ‘TIL DAWN ("feels like Theatre is punching you between the eyes" remotegoat) and SHAKESPEARE, INC. ("this show romps along under McQuade's direction" British Theatre Guide).

ANGELA UNBOUND features Johnathan Hansler, who was recently nominated Best Actor in the Off West End Awards for MAURICE, as well as being the co-writer of the highly acclaimed GOODBYE THE AFTERLIFE OF COOK AND MOORE, which recently played at the Leicester Square Theatre. The show also includes Second Skin Principle Actor Peter Glover, who recently appeared on the stage in Second Skin's production of STAY WITH ME ‘TIL DAWN and introduces the dynamic and talented EWA JAWORSKI to the London stage.

Founded in 2007 by McQuade and Whitehurst, Second Skin broke box office records with its inaugural production of Wilde's SALOME at Pentameters Theatre. This was followed by the critically acclaimed solo drama PIGEON MAN APOCALYPSE, written by Whitehurst and performed by McQuade, which opened the National Theatre of Serbia's International Festival of Solo and Mime, and toured festivals across the US and the UK to critical acclaim ("raw, livid...utterly mesmeric" Times). Second Skin followed with another solo drama written by Whitehurst and starring McQuade, THE HIDEOUS FACE OF LOVE, which won awards for Best Actor and Best Show at the London Solo Festival. They then brought to the London stage the life of the infamous Russian mystic in RASPUTIN, again written by Whitehurst and starring McQuade ("astounding" Anglia Russian Weekly), followed by the double-bill KNUCKLEBALL and STAY WITH ME ‘TIL DAWN ("Fringe theatre at its finest" The Morning Star) and most recently, pondered just who might have been footing the Bard's bills in SHAKESPEARE INC. ("great farce" remotegoat).

In a few short years, Second Skin has already established an enviable reputation for producing "real theatre...not just saccharine entertainment" (British Theatre Guide). Now this dynamic team turn their creative energies to farce and the result is sure to be comic mayhem. Strap on your seatbelts.
