For the first time in eight years, the highly acclaimed children's musical show, SPOT'S BIRTHDAY PARTY is back on stage with extensive tour dates across the UK.

SPOT'S BIRTHDAY PARTY is a revival of David Wood's adaptation of Eric Hill's classic children's story and Spot is currently enjoying his 32nd year as one of the most loved and popular children's fictional character. SPOT'S BIRTHDAY PARTY is the perfect introduction for young theatregoers to experience the magic of a live show on stage at a local venue and is a theatrical experience that will capture all imaginations.

David Wood, "simply the most popular children's dramatist there is" (BBC Radio 4), is the UK's premiere children's playwright who has adapted The Gingerbread Man, The BFG, The Tiger Who Came To Tea and The Meg and Mog Show. David has taken Eric Hill's delightful characters and woven them into an enchanting musical show about Spot and his friends that will entertain and educate young children. SPOT'S BIRTHDAY PARTY was first performed at The Oxford Playhouse in 2000; where it received rave reviews and went on to tour the UK until 2002.

The show sees Spot celebrate his birthday with his friends, Steve the monkey, Helen the hippo and Tom the crocodile. Spot's parents, Sally and Sam, plus special guest entertainer, Marco the rabbit, will be there too and the audience can join in the fun with music, songs, games and stories. Children are welcome to arrive at the theatre dressed for a party, and Spot would love to receive homemade birthday cards from them.

SPOT'S BIRTHDAY PARTY stars Matthew Tanner as Spot, Benjamin Wells as Sam/Marco, Jenanne Redman as Sally, Alex Bloomer as Steve, Adam Ryan as Tom and Elizabeth Oliver-Kirk as Helen.

SPOT'S BIRTHDAY PARTY is based on the book by Eric Hill and adapted and directed by David Wood, with design by Will Hargreaves, movement direction by Jack Murphy and musical direction by Paul Knight.

SPOT'S BIRTHDAY PARTY is produced by PW Productions with Nick Brooke Ltd, in association with Haddock Productions and by arrangement with Tish Francis.

The UK tour of SPOT'S BIRTHDAY PARTY runs until 15 June 2013.
