Having received rave reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe, Simon Slack: The Fantasist is coming to Soho Theatre for 2 nights this November. This absurd one man sketch comedy show in which imagination and reality collide is the solo debut from actor and comedian Robert Cawsey (one half of comedy duo Guilt and Shame) and is directed by Vicky Jones (Fleabag, Soho Theatre & BBC Three).

Simon Slack: The Fantasist is a wild journey of physical comedy, crazy dancing and puppetry. An introverted recluse in his late twenties, Simon has confined himself to his bedroom (in the attic). Unable to deal with the responsibilities and social expectations of adult life he escapes daily to a fantasy world of his own creation accompanied only by his best friend... Puppet 5000. Abusive neighbours, an interfering grandmother, blueys, a wank ballet and a masterpiece that will never be written all feature.

Director Vicky Jones said "Rob is utterly true to his instincts - which endlessly and thrillingly subvert expectations. He has the courage to express the darkest corners of his soul with wit, honesty, silliness, depth and true originality, rendering him naked metaphorically and (almost) literally in the process. His physicality veers from graceful to far too creepy,"

Robert is an actor, writer and comedy performer, trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Ecole Phillipe Gaulier in Paris as a clown and bouffon. Guilt & Shame have performed sell out runs at Soho Theatre and festivals across the UK, including Edinburgh Fringe, Brighton Fringe, Latitude and Bestival. As an actor Robert's film credits include Starter for Ten, Dreams of a Life and A Day at the Beach nominated for Best Short at the Welsh BAFTA's. Recent TV credits include: The Musketeers, Stella (Sky1) and new drama Close To The Enemy (BBC) directed by Stephen Poliakoff. He has also written comedy with Radio 4's Carrie Quinlan including two Edinburgh Fringe sketch shows with Carrie and Gareth Gwynn (Now Show). Robert also appeared in the original cast of Margaret Thatcher Queen of Soho at Theatre 503.
