Islington's Old Red Lion Theatre today announces the next batch of shows for its Spring/Summer 2016 season.

The season opens with a rare revival of Heathcote Williams' sinister classic THE LOCAL STIGMATIC, brought back to the London stage for its 50th anniversary this year. The story of two sociopathic friends rattling through their days premiered at the Traverse, Edinburgh in 1966 and was made into a cult classic film produced by and starring Al Pacino in 1990.

Following that, in June we are delighted to present Richard Sheridan's Fringe hit ODD SHAPED BALLS, the story of one man's battle against endemic homophobia in the world of professional rugby, which will be headlining a 4-week festival of sports theatre (full line-up to be announced in April).

Heading into the summer Velvet Trumpet bring a full-length world premiere run of Ffion Jones' Swansea-set comedy UGLY LOVELY. The highly acclaimed theatre company are well-known for their sell-out Soggy Brass evenings of new comic work, and this is a great chance for their growing armies of fans and new audiences alike to see them wrap their chops around a brilliant new play.

THE LOCAL STIGMATIC - 3rd - 28th May 2016

ODD SHAPED BALLS - 31st May - 25th June 2016

UGLY LOVELY - 28th June - 17th July 2016
