Full casting is announced on Baddies: the Musical, which returns for Christmas with new staging and choreography from Caroline Pope, this follows last year's hugely successful and critically acclaimed sold-out run. Artistic Director Purni Morell directs this deliciously artful and mischievously comic (anti) musical about fairytales much feared anti-heroes.

Nigel Barrett takes the role of The Big Bad Wolf. Nigel is a well-known performance artist and theatre maker and one half of the extraordinary and award-winning duo, Nigel and Louise who won the Oxford Samuel Beckett Theatre Trust Award in 2015 and currently appearing in Margate/Dreamland. An Associate Artist of Shunt, Nigel's theatre credits include The Iphigenia Quartet (Gate Theatre), Death in Every One (BAC) and the title role in Cyrano de Bergerac (Royal & Derngate and Northern Stage).

The versatile cast also includes Christian Roe (Velveteen Rabbit) plays Peter Pan, David McKay plays Rumplestiltskin, Ngo Ngofa (Dancing in the Streets) plays Ugly Sister May, Karis Jack (Urinetown) plays Ugly Sister Fay, Cornell S John (Kidulthood) plays Captain Hook, Kathy Rose O'Brien plays Cinderella, Jon Trenchard (Guard) and Jack Benjamin (Guard).

Baddies: the Musical imagines what happens when five notorious villains from well-known fairytales - the Big Bad Wolf, Rumpelstiltskin, the Ugly Sisters and Captain Hook - are under threat of being thrown out of their own tales by the Council of Bedtime Stories who want to rebrand them. Under the council's critical eye, the Baddies are at risk of being transformed into bland, sugar-coated 'Goodies' forever. But how are you supposed to tell who the good guys are when there are no baddies around.

This year's staging includes choreography from Caroline Pope, one of the UK's leading movement directors working across film, television, theatre and opera. Her credits for film include Hot Fuzz, Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre and Labyrinth with David Bowie. Television includes Mr Selfridge, Jekyll and Hyde, You, Me and the Apocalypse and for theatre Lucy Bailey's King Lear (Theatre Royal Bath) and The Night Season (National Theatre), Jonathan Kent's award-winning Medea with Diana Rigg (Almeida).

Nancy Harris is an award-winning Dublin-born writer whose credits for the Unicorn include the critically acclaimed The Man with the Disturbingly Smelly Foot which played as part of the Greeks season 2012. Her other credits include One Cold Dark Night (Bush Theatre), No Romance (Abbey Theatre), Our New Girl (Bush), The Kreutzer Sonata (Gate Theatre), Girl in a Bath and The Cleanest Way to End It (Soho Theatre), Love in a Glass Jar (Abbey Theatre, Dublin) and Little Dolls (Bush). She also writes for film and television and was nominated for a BAFTA in the Breakthrough Talent category in 2014 for her writing on the Channel 4 series DATES.

Marc Teitler has worked extensively in theatre, television and film. His credits for the Unicorn include The Nutcracker and The Mouse King. Other work includes Stuck on a Sunday (Royal Opera House) which was made into an animated film by BAFTA winning Marc Craste, Blood + Gifts for Howard Davies at the National Theatre, Does My Society Look Big in This for Tom Morris at Bristol Old Vic and The Secret Agent at the Young Vic. Film work includes Beacon 77, Hearts and Missing which was nominated for Best Music for an Animated Film at the Berlin Independent Film Festival. Marc is currently under commission for work at the National Theatre and Bristol Old Vic.
