Official London Theatre's annual season of walking tours is now on sale for 2014 featuring the classic History of TheatrelandWalking Tour starting this spring and the Haunted Theatreland Walking Tour departing later in the year, both led once again by London Blue Badge Guide Diane Burstein.

From April to September, the History of Theatreland Walking Tour weaves from Soho via Covent Garden to the Strand looking at a wide variety of theatre venues from Victorian to contemporary. Walkers can admire the architecture of several fine theatres and learn about the illustrious and eccentric personalities who have worked in them over the centuries as Diane Burstein peels away the historical layers to uncover the secrets of the past, offering theatrical anecdotes together with current information on the latest shows and news from London theatre.

Theatre enthusiasts with more ghoulish tastes can join the Haunted Theatreland Walking Tour from October to December and hear tales of betrayal, bereavement and bloody murder on the cobbled streets and gas-lit back alleys between Covent Garden and St James's. This atmospheric journey through the darker side of Theatreland's history is punctuated with unsettling stories of a ghostly clown, a phantom prompter, spooky superstitions and the eerie Man in Grey.

The History of Theatreland tours will take place on the following Sundays, leaving at 2:30pm from a Central London location: 20 April, 11 May, 15 June, 13 July, 17 August, and 7 September.
