Lichfield Garrick launches its exciting new season, complete with famous faces, drama, music, dance, comedy and children's entertainment.

Running from May to September, the new shorter season boasts an impressive array of shows and events to suit everyone.

Tim Ford, Artistic Director at the Lichfield Garrick, said: "We have an action-packed season ahead of us and I am thrilled that we'll be bringing some of the very best theatre companies and artists from across the UK and direct from The West End to Lichfield. These include the brilliant Odd Socks Theatre with their production of Much Ado About Nothing, helping us to celebrate the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare, and the best full masked theatre company in the UK, Vamos Theatre, with their hilarious exploration of life in the swinging 60s.

"This autumn we open the national tour of The Woman in Black, so grab a ticket if you dare! For musical lovers we are thrilled to welcome the UK tour of Little Shop of Horrors starring X Factor finalist Rhydian, and The Magic of The Musicals with the brilliant Julie Atherton and friends. And, football fans can enjoy an evening of laughter and good old fashioned banter with an evening of Ron Atkinson and Barry Fry."

Season highlights also include the theatre's first community show staged and starring a cast of 40 local people, The Hired Man in July, and the Friends of the Garrick president, Tony Christie will be treading the boards in September as part of his Golden Anniversary Tour.

There is comedy from Joe Pasquale and Henning Wehn and children's entertainment in the shape of The Ugly Duckling and CBeebies' favourites Chris and Pui.

The season includes a great mix of tribute acts, including tributes to Roy Orbison, Barry Steele, The Rolling Stones, Elvis, Phil Collins and ABBA.

The Lichfield Garrick is also celebrating Lichfield Food festival with a Murder on the Churchill Express, where the audience members are the detectives and solve the case with a buffet dinner included.

The team is looking forward to its Christmas pantomime in December when CBeebies Rebecca Keatley will bring a touch of fairy magic to Lichfield in Sleeping Beauty.
