Les Enfants Terribles to Bring ERNEST AND THE PALE MOON to TOM for Brighton Fringe, May 21-22

Following their acclaimed tour of The Trench, which played at TOM May 2013, award-winning Theatre Company, Les Enfants Terribles tour with their new show, Ernest and The Pale Moon, adapted for the stage with Pins and Needles Productions.

Ernest Hemel spends his days watching the beautiful young woman Gwendoline, who lives in the apartment opposite. Consumed with obsession, when he sees her with another man he is thrown into a jealous rage and driven to murder, though all is not what it may at first seem. Slowly Ernest's guilt sends him on a spiralling descent into madness. 'Ernest' uses narrative twists and turns, live music, inventive design and physical storytelling to provide a refreshingly thrilling and terrifying experience very separate to the usual comedy of Brighton Fringe.

Inspired by the works of Edgar Allan Poe and Alfred Hitchcock, Ernest and the Pale Moon, is a spine-chilling tale of obsession and murder from the team behind the multi award winning show The Trench, The Terrible Infants and The Vaudevillains. Les Enfants Terribles won the Argus Angel & Fringe Review Awards at Brighton Festival 2008, and returned for a very successful run of The Trench last year at Brighton Fringe. The company has performed productions to thousands of people all over the world including theatres in Poland, Czech Republic, Dubai, Norway, Singapore, Australia, and has toured extensively all over the UK winning vast critical acclaim.

Written by Oliver Lansley, directed by James Seager and designed by Zoe Squire, Ernest and the Pale Moon previously toured in 2010 where it was described by The Telegraph as "gloriously gothic" by The Metro as "fresh as a new wound" and by The Stage as a "highly atmospheric piece of gothic story-telling, channelling Edgar Allan Poe and Henry James, producing a compelling and macabre account of obsession, immurement and murder." It was previously directed by Emma Earle and was nominated for a total theatre award.

Oliver Lansley founded Les Enfants Terribles in 2001 and is now known for his work in television co-creating/writing ITV2's FM and numerous other projects including WHITES (BBC2) starring Alan Davies. He was named a 'Broadcast Hotshot' by Broadcast magazine and won the 'Multi-talented' award at Channel 4's 4-Talent Awards. Of his own work as a writer/director/producer/actor and everything in between he says: "I was very inspired by Steven Berkoff and his work. He wrote, directed and produced his own material. He had his own distinct style and he always worked outside of the establishment".
