After last summer's critical success with a promenade adaptation of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, Iris Theatre are returning to the gardens and grounds of St Paul's Church, Covent Garden for a sixth year of family-friendly theatre, and its sequel, Alice through the Looking Glass.

Laura Wickham is returning to once again play Alice and complete her adventures in a fantastical topsy-turvy world. Stepping through the surface of a magic mirror the audience join Alice as she journeys across a checkerboard world filled with fantastical creatures and talking flowers. Along the way, in a series of different locations around the church and its grounds, they will meet friends, old and new, including the Mad Hatter and the March Hare, the Lion and the Unicorn, and Tweedledum and Tweedledee, before Alice has to face and battle the fearsome Jabberwock.

Alice through the Looking Glass, by Lewis Carroll in a new adaptation by Daniel Winder and Candida Caldcott, will be presented from Wednesday 30 July - Saturday 30 August. Press night is Monday 4 August at 7.00pm.

"We are delighted to welcome back Laura as Alice," said director Daniel Winder. "Candida Calidcot and I wrote our adaptation of Alice specifically with Laura in mind and we are looking forward to seeing her complete her amazing adventures. It's a fun-filled family story packed with music and song."

Alice in Wonderland was shortlisted for West End Frame's London Fringe Production of the Year and played to delighted audiences throughout the summer.

Laura is an Associate Artist of Iris Theatre, and this summer's Alice Through the Looking Glass and Richard III, in which she's playing Queen Elizabeth, are her seventh and eighth shows for the company, following Alice in Alice in Wonderland, Portia, Calpuria and Cinna the poet in Julius Caesar, Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Dreamer in Circuit, Mole in The Wind in the Willows and Juliet in Romeo and Juliet.
