A uniquely human story of a Bronx mother's efforts to give her only daughter the elaborate wedding she never had - and the bride never asked for! In this funny and poignant musical of love and disaffection, "A Catered Affair" explores both our need for love and the true meaning of family.

"A Catered Affair" features a nine-strong, ensemble cast, and is directed by London Theatre Workshop's Artistic Director, Ray Rackham, with musical direction by David Keefe who previously were the team behind the fortieth anniversary productions of Sondheim's "Company" (2010) and "Follies" (2011) and most recently on "Just Another Love Story", playing at the London Theatre Workshop until 24 May.

The cast includes Maggie Robson ("Follies", Pleasance Theatre) and Howard Samuels ("Tonight's The Night", Victoria Palace; "Rocky Horror Show", Duke of York's; "Rebel in Paradise", Young Vic) playing husband and wife, Aggie and Tom Hurley. David Anthony ("Joseph...", UK Tour) plays Uncle Winston, with Aimee Matthews ("Just Another Love Story", London Theatre Workshop) and Calum Melville playing the bride and bridegroom, Janey and Ralph.

"A Catered Affair" also reunites Judith Street ("Uncle Vanya", Vaudeville Theatre; "Scrooge", Dominion Theatre; "Into the Woods", Derby Playhouse) and Dudley Rogers ("Fiddler on the Roof", "Joseph...", West End), who were last seen together playing Mr and Mrs Strauss in the Southwark Playhouse smash "Titanic", this time playing husband and wife Mr and Mrs Halloran. Ellen Verenieks ("The Gay Naked Play", Above the Stag) and Bryony Growdon ("Elegies..." The White Bear) complete the cast.

"A Catered Affair" premiered on Broadway in the 2007/2008 season, and was nominated for a season record of 12 Drama Desk nominations, and was chosen as Best Musical by the New York Drama League. London Theatre Workshop will use its unique. 65 seat boutique theatre space to create an intimate production, with audiences feeling close enough to the action that they are essentially the final member of the family around the dinner table.
