Gay Soper Announced For UK Tour Of MAURICE'S JUBILEE

Gay Soper will take over from SheiLA Reid, playing Helena, for the latter part of the National Tour of Maurice's Jubilee. Gay will join previously announced Olivier Award winning cast members Nichola McAuliffe (Katie) and Julian Glover (Maurice) playing at Bromley Churchill Theatre (26-30 March), Cambridge Arts Theatre (2-6 April)Theatre Royal, Windsor (8-13 April) and Oxford Playhouse (15-20 April).

Maurice's Jubilee, presented by Pleasance and PW Productions in association with Wild Thyme Productions and Ambassador Theatre Group, is written by Nichola McAuliffe, directed by multiple Fringe First winner Hannah Eidinow and has design by Christopher Richardson, lighting by Mark Jonathan and sound by Tom Lishman.

Gay Soper's theatre credits include Pippin at the Menier Chocolate Factory, Lend Me A Tenor at the Gielgud Theatre, The Busy Body at Southwark Playhouse, Marguerite at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, Sunday in the Park with George at the Wyndham's Theatre/Menier Chocolate Factory, Les Miserables at the Palace Theatre and Salad Days at the Vaudeville. Her UK Tour credits include Doctor in the House, Star Quality, House of Ghosts andThe Stripper. Gay's screen credits include Rude Health, The Needle Match, Barbara, Father Dear Father and The Ups and Downs of a Handyman.

SheiLA Reid (Helena), Julian Glover (Maurice) and Nichola McAuliffe (Katie) are the cast for the following venues; Manchester Opera House (24-26 January), Aylesbury Waterside Theatre (29 January - 2 February),Bath Theatre Royal (4-9 February), Woking New Victoria Theatre (12 - 16 February), Richmond Theatre (19-23 February), Brighton Theatre Royal (26 February - 2 March) Birmingham New Alexandra Theatre (5-9 March) and Malvern (11 - 16 March).

A Royal encounter. An enduring love. A bungalow in Penge. Maurice is determined to reach his 90th birthday, which is the day before the diamond jubilee. The Queen, having made him a promise 60 years before, is coming to tea. His wife is convinced he's never met the Queen. His nurse thinks it's time he did.

Maurice's Jubilee is the hilariously funny and poignant take on timeless themes, the exploration of one man's enduring commitment to a dream, and an eternal love triangle, fallen on hard times.

Olivier Award winning Julian Glover's stage credits include Oliver at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, Henry IV andHenry V for the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Voysey Inheritance at The National Theatre and Richard II at the Old Vic. His screen credits include Game of Thrones (series regular), The Empire Strikes Back, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and For Your Eyes Only.
