Charles Dickens meets Roald Dahl via Horrible Histories with laughs, frights and live music in Grisly Tales from Tumblewater for ages 8+. Inspired by Bruno Vincent's popular novel, nominated for the 2010 Waterstone's Children's Book Awards, Edward Jaspers (co-writer of the award-winning Hamlet! The Musical) will bring this one man show to life.

Daniel Dory, a determined orphan armed with only his wits and a satchel of spine-chilling stories, stumbles into Tumblewater – a most unwelcoming place. Caspian Prye, the twisted landowner controls everything and everyone, even the police. Can Daniel Day bring down Caspian Prye, save the girl in the next room and stay alive long enough to tell his tales?

To accompany the show, Sheffield Theatres have devised Grisly Half Term Tales, a series of fun and interactive workshop sessions to keep the kids busy from Monday 13 – Wednesday 15 February. Over three days 11 – 13 year olds will get the chance to see the show and work as part of a group to create their own set of Grisly Tales to perform to friends and family on the final day.

Tickets for Grisly Tales from Tumblewater can be purchased from Sheffield Theatres' Box Office in-person, by phone on 0114 249 6000 or online at sheffieldtheatres.co.uk and are priced £12.00 (£10.00 for concessions).

Places on Grisly Half Term Tales are £45.00 which includes the price of a ticket to watch the performance. The workshop sessions will begin at 10.00am each day. Participants are asked to bring their own packed lunch and the break will be supervised at the theatre. For more information and to book call the Box Office on 0114 249 6000.
