Free Trade Productions is proud to present Gregory Beam's Keepsake, a finalist for last year's Eugene O'Neil Theatre Centre National Playwrights Conference, January 7th-25th at the Old Red Lion Theatre.

In the wake of their father's suicide, Abra and her adopted sister, Samara, find themselves together again in their childhood home in Massachusetts. While confronting the troubling circumstances of their father's death, the sisters attempt to reconnect over drinks and discussions about life, work, and love. Things take a turn, however, and when Abra asks Samara to make a huge personal sacrifice, Samara delivers a reckoning that has been building for almost twenty years.

Gregory Beam's work has been referred to as 'refreshingly transgressive' and 'perversely sophisticated' (Chicago Reader). Considered by many to be one of the bright new voices of American Theatre, his work has been staged in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles receiving numerous accolades. His first full-length production The Bloody Romantic was named "Critic's Choice' by The Chicago Reader and was ranked as one of the "Top Five New Plays of the Year" by NewCity Chicago. His work has twice been selected as a finalist for the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center National Playwrights Conference in both 2012 and 2013. Keepsake will mark Greg's debut on the London stage.
