Exeter Northcott Theatre Presents Script-In-Hand Reading of SELLOUT Tonight

The Exeter Northcott Theatre is delighted to host a script-in-hand reading of SELLOUT, a new play by David Lane, exploring the crisis in Britain's universities. The show will run tonight, 24 January, 2014.

SELLOUT is a story that concerns every student in the UK, every graduate and every new applicant. It's about where your money goes, the hidden pressures that compromise education and asks, is the pursuit of knowledge taking second place to the pursuit of money?

Frank is a brilliant, inspiring lecturer. But now he's been suspended for speaking his mind. His wife has left him for a Greek. His boss thinks he's a cash cow but he won't sell marks in exchange for income. Exasperated by bureaucracy, can he preserve the values he holds so dear? One last act of defiance might just bring the system tumbling to its knees...

Back-stabbing, lies and manipulation: it's just another day at the Bursar's office. Savage, impassioned and funny, SELLOUT puts us at the heart of the crisis in our education system,

The reading will be followed by a post-show discussion.

Tickets cost £10, with £5 student standby tickets available. Concessions are £2 off. Groups of ten or more get their eleventh ticket free. The show runs 2 hours and 5 minutes and is suitable for audiences 12 years and older.
