The Crazy Coqs has announced its July 2014 lineup. Details below!

DARYL SHERMAN

TALE OF THREE CITIES

JULY 1- 5

Glimpses of romance, unrequited love and amusing oddities from Manhattan, London and Tokyo. Making her Crazy Coqs debut, the singer-pianist Daryl Sherman's experiences in all three cities are told through a treasury of songs old and new that will delight, swing and touch the heart. A sparkling mainstay of Manhattan nightlife, Daryl Sherman is equally at home in the world of jazz and cabaret. She has the knack of drawing her audience in by telling them the history behind some of the songs she sings and in the good-natured spin she imparts to the songs. She has often been likened to the late Blossom Dearie to whom she bears a striking vocal resemblance, but her jazz pianism is sparer and more percussive.

Daryl Sherman has performed and recorded with jazz notables: Bucky & John Pizzarelli, Barbara Carroll, Warren Vache, Bob Dorough, Dick Hyman, Mike Renzi, Houston Person, Harry Allen, Wycliffe Gordon, Ruby Braff, Howard Alden, Ken Peplowski and British luminaries Dave Green, Andy Cleyndert, Dave Cliff, Digby Fairweather, and Alan Barnes. She's appeared in concert with cabaret artists KT Sullivan, Jeff Harnar, and Sir Richard Rodney Bennett and was an artistic director for 92nd St Y Lyrics and Lyricists.

Andrew Cleyndert accompanies on bass.

MARI WILSON

MARI WILSON - UP CLOSE!

JULY 8 - 12

At Crazy Coqs, Mari Wilson takes her audience on an intimate musical journey with a surprising and diverse mix of both classical and contemporary songs. From the Bee Gees and Bacharach to Chrissie Hynde and Gerry Marsden along with Mari's hits old and new, plus a selection of songs from her new show - Am I The Same Girl - Mari Sings Dusty. All wrapped up in Mari's unique storytelling and wit and of course those glamorous costume changes.

Mari first arrived on the scene in the early 80's with her iconic skyscraper beehive hairdo, bizarre sense of fashion and fully choreographed 12-piece band The Wilsations. Very soon she became a mainstay of radio, TV and the stage.

In 2000, Mari was the obvious choice to play the legend Dusty Springfield on the hugely successful nationwide tour of Dusty The Musical and this year has seen Mari touring the UK with her sell-out concerts paying homage to Dusty Springfield with her unique interpretation of the classic hits along with some lesser known gems. www.mariwilson.co.uk

STEFAN BEDNARCZYK

SINGS NOEL COWARD

JULY 15-19

Described as 'one of the most important interpreters of Coward that we have,' Stefan Bednarczyk returns to The Crazy Coqs with his brilliant Noel Coward show. Concentrating on Coward during the war and post war years, but also including Coward's works from the 20s and 30s as well as some of his lesser-known songs. 'Cowards Verses,' some anecdotes and insights that Bednarczyk has gleaned from his friendships and acquaintances with people who knew and worked with The Master, including Judy Campbell, Sheridan Morley, Wendy Toye and Graham Payn are all part of this engrossing show that has earned Bednarczyk the title of 'Un roi du cabaret' in France.

Bednarczyk is an actor, Musical Director and cabaret performer. His extensive credits as Musical Director include shows at the National Theatre, the Barbican, the Almeida, Hampstead and Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park, and the British premiere of "Boy Meets Boy" at the Jermyn Street Theatre. As a solo cabaret performer he has enjoyed seasons in London, New York and many major European cities.

WORBEY AND FARRELL

CONCERTO WITHOUT ORCHESTRA

JULY 22-26

Following last year's total sell-out at Crazy Coqs, Worbey and Farrell - the internationally acclaimed concert pianists with a wicked sense of humour - are back! They've achieved over a million hits on YouTube and entertained all over the globe with their barnstorming blend of sparky comedy and sensational piano-playing.

Revolutionary in their treatment of the traditional piano duet, they push the boundaries of the instrument using it to illuminate music of every style - classical, popular and contemporary. Their instrument can imitate the tones of a Spanish guitar, resound with their very own Paganini Variations or pulsate with the passions of the masters of jazz.

Prepare to be moved, excited and amazed. But above all prepare to laugh with joy at the sheer ingenuity and style of these two masters of musical mayhem.
