Chameleon's Dish in association with Sky or the Bird and Grindstone present: Othello Syndrome by William Shakespeare, adapted and directed by Hannah Kaye. Performances will benefit Eaves Charity for Women.

A world where irrational jealousy leads inevitably to murder. Seven actors. A visceral story. Challenging misogyny.

This genre-busting production recounts the tragedy of Shakespeare's Othello in a bold and highly physical interpretation which puts the emphasis on the gender politics of the play. 'Othello Syndrome' exposes the damage caused by the way in which the traditional version of the story has entered our culture: the terrible myth of honour, the vile cult of virginity.

'Othello Syndrome' will be the third venture for Chameleon's Dish into intelligent, rebellious, and feminist versions of Shakespearean plays which combine a rigorous approach to the text with heightened movement to make visually appealing and emotionally gripping theatrical experiences.

Designed by J William Davis; Music by Sonnie Beckett. Featuring: Sonnie Beckett, Joey Ellis, Hannah Kaye, Tom Futerill, Rosalind Parker, Andrew Hobday and Adrian Quinton.

Running time: 1 hour 45 minutes plus interval at the Drayton Theatre, 153 Old Brompton Road SW5 0LJ. Previews 3rd & 4th September, 8 pm, Press night 5th & 6th September, 8 pm.
