CandyKing Theatre closes AN IDEAL HUSBAND by Oscar Wilde May 23 at Greenwich Station Forecourt (189 Greenwich High Road).

As a continuation of the special relationship between CandyKing Theatre and the Greenwich Playhouse, CandyKing Theatre are proud to present Oscar Wilde's AN IDEAL HUSBAND in a four week run. AN IDEAL HUSBAND is Wilde's near to the knuckle masterpiece, a dazzling comedy about political corruption and blackmail, set in London high society. Awash with Wilde's trademark wit, and his greatest dramatic plot, acerbic characters and brilliant fops, it is one of his finest theatrical pieces.

The Chiltern's charmed life is tested to the limit when the mysterious Mrs Cheveley waltzes back into London, with a secret from Lord Chiltern's past that could threaten to ruin his political career, destroy his relationship and challenge his freedom. The drama is set against the brilliant humour that defines Wilde's most famous works.

The cast includes: Peter Rae, Jose Domingos, Kate Sandison, Judith Quinn, Donal Cox, Kath Perry, Eden Vik, Peter Clapp, Lindsey Crow and Sophie Caruana.

The creative team includes Director Maria Chiorando, Producer Maria Chiorando, Producer Hannah Sayer, Designers Margaret Ellis and Louisa Reece and Composer Dylan Freed.
