August's Live at The Hippodrome programme features a broad selection of music, comedy, cabaret and more including hip US singer and inimitable interpreter of the Great American Songbook James Tormé; soulful jazz and blues diva Gill Manly; and an evening with Joe Longthorne, who will be returning to the venue following his sold-out performances earlier in the year.

James Tormé - Saturday 3rd August (8pm / tickets from £25)

Multi-Award winning James Tormé is a uniquely gifted singer whose music infuses older classics with contemporary influences. Hugely influenced by his father, the legendary Mel Tormé, James' musical repertoire, which he calls the New American Songbook, explores all corners of popular music history and appeals to young and old audiences alike.

Joe Longthorne is recognised as one of this country's finest vocalists and live performers. Held in the highest esteem by his fellow professionals, Joe has had countless sell out performances around the world including at The Sydney Opera House, The London Palladium and The Royal Albert Hall.

Arabian Night - Sunday 11th August (8:00pm / tickets from £15)

Hippodrome Live presents a brand new series of events which will look to embrace many of the diverse facets of Arab culture including authentic music, dance and cuisine. This special event will feature a performance from one of the most celebrated names in modern North African roots music Abdelkader Saadoun. Guests will also be treated to performances from belly dancers and the party will continue late into the night with a host of top DJs playing a range of floor-fillers that will include specialist Arabic playlists alongside Western club classics.

Velma Celli Show - Thursday 22nd August (8:00pm / tickets from £10)

Velma Celli is the alter-ego of West End performer Ian Stroughair. Ian has already carved out a successful stage career in London theatre as an actor, choreographer and director. He has performed in smash hit West End productions Cats, Fame and Chicago. As always, joining Velma are her Skreaming Queenz, a troupe of hot West End dancers who will assist Velma and take you on a hilarious roller coaster ride of disco, pop, rock and opera.
