Vocalist B.J.Ward, who released B.J. Ward Sings Marshall Barer on Concord Records in 2005, will perform the late lyricist's music at London's The Crazy Coqs on April 13th at 8pm, with UK pianist and composer, Simon Wallace. Ward is one of the most popular voice talents in the U.S., known both as a voiceover talent who has voiced hundreds of films, TV and games, and as a concert artist. Her very popular one-woman show, Stand-Up Opera, has played at The Kennedy Center and Ward has been a guest artist with symphonies and Performing Arts Centers around the U.S. On the day following the Crazy Coqs show, Ward releases Double Feature (LML), a recording dedicated largely to film music, with the legendary pianist, Donn Trenner.

The late Marshall Barer was an eccentric who is best known for Once Upon A Mattress and "Here We Come to Save the Day" (the Mighty Mouse Theme). His lyrics are beloved among singers and have been performed or recorded by Liza Minnelli, Andrea Marcovicci, Maude Maggart, Harry Belafonte, the late Nat King Cole, Michael Feinstein (who produced Ward's Concord Records CD), and many more artists. The Crazy Coqs is located at 20 Sherwood Street, London W1F 7ED. The closest tube stop is Piccadilly Circus, Exit 1. Phone: 020 7734 4888. "Vocalist B.J. Ward's cabaret concert mines the rich and largely unexplored Field of Barer rhymes, apothegms, and anecdotes." Michael Feingold, The Village Voice

"Ward's diverse background from her witty 'Stand-Up Opera' show to her work with The Groundlings to dozens of cartoon voices-- is supported by a well-trained, facile voice and persuasive musical intelligence." Los Angeles Times
