Following critically-acclaimed, sell-out productions of The Tempest, A Midsummer Night's Dream and A Christmas Carol in historic Middle Temple Hall, Antic Disposition are to make the short journey to the ancient Temple Church in central London for their next production, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare.

It will run Saturday 30 August - Sunday 7 September.

Press are invited to review either Sunday 31 August or Monday 1 September at 8.00pm

In the scorching heat of summer, the streets of Verona simmer with tension. Two rival families are fighting an undeclared war. With emotions running high, Verona is a powder keg of barely suppressed violence. And when love strikes the houses of Montague and Capulet, it sparks a chain of events that will blow the city apart.

Located in the secluded heart of London's legal quarter between Fleet Street and the River Thames, Temple Church was built by the Knights Templar in the 12th-century and is one of London's most beautiful and historic buildings. Romeo and Juliet will be performed in the unique circular setting of the 'Round', the oldest part of the Church, consecrated in 1185. The production offers a rare opportunity to visit the building and explore the quiet cobbled lanes, courtyards and gardens of this little-known area of the city.

Founded by director Ben Horslen and designer John Risebero in 2005, Antic Disposition presents innovative, entertaining interpretations of classic plays and stories, with a particular emphasis on the works of Shakespeare. The company has earned much acclaim for its high quality, visually striking productions, which are often presented in spectacular historic locations and non-theatre spaces.

Romeo and Juliet is directed by Ben Horslen and John Risebero, with design by John Risebero, lighting design by Tom Boucher and music by James Burrows. The cast includes: Russell Anthony, Chris Courtenay, Helen Evans, Pamela Hall, Alex Hooper, Dylan Kennedy, Stefan Majczak, James Murfitt, James Pellow and Bryony Tebbutt.

Following Romeo and Juliet, Antic Disposition will be returning to Middle Temple Hall in December with a revival of their hugely popular A Christmas Carol. Full details will be announced soon.
