Last seen professionally in London over 15 years ago, All Star Productions presents FLORA THE RED MENACE, from May 15th - June 1st. 

The show was penned by award winning songwriting team John Kander and Fred Ebb in 1965 as a star vehicle for Liza Minnelli for which she won the Tony award for Best Actress.

Fashion designer Flora Mezaros, a member of an artists co-operative is struggling to find work during the Great Depression. She is hired by a large department store at which time she falls in love with Harry, a struggling designer, who attempts to convert Flora to his Communist ideals. Even though it compromises her job in an organization which does not recognize the new unions she seeks to hold down both job and relationship.

The cast includes Katy Baker, Ellen Verenieks Carly Mackelvie, Kimberley Moses, Simon Ouldred,Greg Sheffield and Will Pearce. The production is directed by RAndy Smartnick.

Founded by Musician Aaron Clingham, All Star Productions is Walthamstow’s only full time professional theatre company specializing in Musical Theatre revivals. Our 2011 season included GODSPELL which gained 6 nominations in the Off West End Awards (Offies), the first professional highly acclaimed revival of Howard Goodall’s GIRLFRIENDS,the first London revival of THE MUSICAL OF MUSICALS THE MUSICAL! and Pam Gem’s PIAF. 2012 saw LOVE & WAR a new musical revue of the songs of British composer Howard Goodall. All Star Productions is based at Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre in Walthamstow, an 80 seat venue above the CAMRA voted 2011 Pub of the year in East London.
