Young People's Theatre presents the World Premiere of Emily's Piano. Adapted for the stage by Mark Cassidy from the novel by Charlotte Gingras, this honest portrayal of a young girl's emotional journey amid family upheavals will be presented on the Mainstage from April 13 to May 2.

Emily is a young girl coping with the breakup of her family - her parents are separating, dad is starting a new relationship and her grandmother is being placed into a care facility. Emily remains with her mother, who is slowly sinking into depression. As she finds herself becoming more caregiver than cared for, Emily's resourceful spirit leads her to a solution she hopes will bring light back into the home. This insightful play shows how young people can be unfairly forced to grow up quickly when family dynamics change. Emily's Piano continues YPT's exploration into mental health and wellness in the lives of young people.

Directed by Mark Cassidy. Featuring Heather Marie Annis, Hilary Carroll, Mary Ellen MacLean, Ginette Mohr and Christopher Sawchyn.

Set & Lighting Designer: Beth Kates; Costume Designer: Laura Gardner; Sound Designer: Nicholas Murray; Dramaturg: Stephen Colella; Assistant Director: Amy Lee: Stage Manager: Kai-Yueh Chen.
