New Year's Eve is a retrospective time when we take a break and glance back at special memories.

CBC-TV's Air Farce's New Year's Eve special is no exception with its current affairs jokes, like this one from the recent past: What does Justin Bieber have in common with Times Square in New York on New Year's Eve?

They're both waiting for their balls to drop.

Tomorrow night, Dec. 31st at 8:00 p.m. (8:30 NT), we'll learn just what take this year's comedy troupe of Don Ferguson, Luba Goy, Craig Lauzon, Alan Park and Penelope Corrin has on 2014's biggest stories. They will be joined by Second City Alumnus Darryl Hinds and the multi-talented Aisha Alfa.

Among special guests are Justin Trudeau, Liberal Party leader and former drama teacher, reviewing the year's biggest movies; Amber Marshall, star of CBC-TV's "Heartland" saving the ranch from the path of the Keystone pipeline; and Canadian Olympic downhill skiing heroes, the Duflour-Lapointe sisters: Maxime, Chloé and Justine who introduce their fourth sister.

Jon Montgomery, Canadian skeleton racer/ Olympic Gold medalist and host of The Amazing Race Canada, stars in a spin-off of the show in which Canada's federal political leaders literally run for office. The skit also features this summer's race winners Mickey Henry and Pete Schmaltz as well as celebrity chef Vikram Jij from CBC-TV's popular business show "Dragon's Den."

Of course, the highlight of the show is the finale, the dropping of the show's infamous "F-Bom" in which an image of an especially egregious newsmaker of the past year is targeted for humiliation, much to the delight of the in-studio audience.

An F-bomb, consisting of the most fetid, disgusting material ... packed before the audience's eyes. Nikki Yanofsky, popular jazz singing sensation actually sings the ingredients this year as they are poured into the bomb. After it's lifted 50 feet above, it's BOMBS AWAY and SPLAT, right in the kisser!! A popular past victim was alcoholic, drug-addicted Toronto Mayor Rob Ford. What a catharsis that was as the audience laughed insanely!

Once again, this year's target ... plus the runners-up ... were nominated by Air Farce fans from an assortment of the most annoying and irritating newsmakers of 2014 such as Kim Kardashian, Vladimir Putin and so on. Who will it be? Will the CBC have the guts to let the scandalous former CBC Radio host Jian Ghomeshi ... who dominated the headlines in 2014 ... get it in the kisser? The BBC would!

Other subjects for the AIR FARCE's satirical humor will include the discovery of the remnants from the Franklin Expedition, a toast to the Scottish referendum and a hilarious slam on Rogers' Communications takeover of NHL telecasts that includes a comical shot at the ever unctuous... and former CBC-TV chat show host ... George Stroumboulopoulos.

AIR FARCE is Canada's longest-running comedy troupe. More than 1.8 million people watched last year's New Year's Eve special, making it CBC's highest-rated entertainment event of the season.
