The Second City Toronto Announces The 2017 Bob Curry Fellowship Recipients

The Second City Toronto is proud to announce an exciting group of performers for The Bob Curry Fellowship, who will write and perform an original sketch revue on Monday, April 24, 2017 on The Second City Mainstage. The fellowship honours The Second City's first African American alum, Bob Curry, who performed on the mainstage in 1966.


The 2017 Bob Curry Fellowship recipients for Toronto are Nicky Nasrallah(Panacea!), Rodrigo Fernandez-Stoll (Kim's Convenience), Franco Nguyen(TallBoyz II Men), Foad HP (JFL42), Paul Barnes (TVO's Hi Opie!), Jonathan Shaboo (Twice Upon a Time), King Chiu (Not Oasis), David Travaglio (Theatre Orangeville), Tim Blair (TallBoyz II Men), Andrea Marston (The Kweendom), Kayla Lakhani (Kim's Convenience), Celeste Yim (The Follies), Isabel Kanaan(Hey 90s Kids You're Old), Alia Rasul (Fusion Comedy), Liza Paul (Soulpepper), and Aliya Kanani (No Filter Comedy). The Bob Curry Fellowship Showcasewill be directed by Nigel Downer, writer and performer in four critically-acclaimed Second City Mainstage revues.

The Bob Curry Fellowship is the first master comedy fellowship of it's kind offered at Second City Chicago and Toronto locations. This program was launched by The Second City Diversity and Training Center divisions and allows the Fellows to work with various Second City Artists to create an Industry Showcase from start to finish. These performers will also have a chance to be a part of the Second City and NBC Breakout Festival happening in Chicago in Summer 2017.

Brandon Hackett and Ann Pornel, current Mainstage cast members in The Second City's Everything is Great Again, are graduates of the inaugural Bob Curry Fellowship in Toronto in 2015.
