Rabbi Sam Isaac wants to reinvent American Judaism, starting with the congregation that hired him. Some people love the new rabbi. Some can't stand him. And, of course, some can't stand each other. Funny, moving, bursting with energy and ideas, RABBI SAM is a play for Jews, Gentiles and anyone who has ever attended a meeting.

TEATRON Theatre has assembled a talented cast for RABBI SAM featuring returning actors Ron Boyd (THE DYBBUK, BLUISH, KOSHER LUTHERANS, A HAMBURGER IN A PITA, DECEIVED, CAN I REALLY DATE A GUY WHO WEARS A YARMULKE), Bob Cooper (BLUISH), Martin Edmonds (A GLIMPSE OF THE LIGHT) and Edith Acker (CONVERSATIONS WITH MY FATHER), as well as Leah Charney, Julie Cohn, Arie Eigner, Brian Epstein and Marion Hirschberg.

Directed by Ari Weisberg, Artistic Director and founder of TEATRON Theatre, RABBI SAM is the second play in TEATRON's tenth season of fine Jewish-themed plays. It will be followed by JACOB AND JACK, a comedy by James Sherman, in March. Season subscriptions are available with savings of 20% off the regular price.

TEATRON Toronto Jewish Theatre produces plays from Canada and the world's communities, unveiling the treasures of Jewish tradition, enriching and inspiring the Jewish experience of all theatregoers, leading to better understanding and harmony, while maintaining Jewish values.

Ari Weisberg, founder and Artistic Director of TEATRON Theatre, has a rich and varied career in theatre and television. His directing and design credits include THE MELVILLE BOYS, MURDER AMONG FRIENDS, THE AFFECTIONS OF MAY as well as over eighteen plays directed for TEATRON Theatre. A graduate of Queen's University, Ari spent 18 years directing and producing for television in Kingston, Ontario.
