Shakespeare BASH'd caps off their biggest season yet with one of the Bard's most beloved plays:
HAMLET, running February 2-7, 2016 at the Monarch Tavern (12 Clinton St).

Artistic Director James Wallis takes the stage in the title role, alongside a company of Shakespearean powerhouses in this energetic, compelling production. Returning to the Monarch Tavern, HAMLET will mark the fourth and final show of the company's hitherto sold-out season. With company veteran Catherine Rainville at the helm, Shakespeare BASH'd will bring their clear, text-driven, rousing work to the bar for Toronto audiences to enjoy once again.

In this production of HAMLET, Shakespeare BASH'd has assembled a cast that combines dynamos of the Shakespearean stage, company favourites, and some of the city's most exciting up-and-coming actors.

James Wallis will take the stage as HAMLET in the last role he will play before heading to the Stratford Festival to assistant direct Macbeth for their 2016 season. Wallis' real-life wife, Julia Nish-Lapidus, will play Ophelia. The two return to the Shakespeare BASH'd stage together for the first time since the sold-out remount of the company's smash-hit staging of The Taming of the Shrew.

Shakespeare BASH'd company favourite David Ross (Macbeth, The Taming of the Shrew, Romeo and Juliet, The Merry Wives of Windsor, as well as Richard III for Shakespeare in the Ruff) will play Claudius opposite Jane Spence (Mirvish, Stratford Festival) as Gertrude. Daniel Briere (Stratford Festival, Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, Storefront Theatre) plays Polonius, and Jennifer Dzialoszynski (Shaw Festival, Canadian Stage) takes on the role of Laertes.

Don't miss this new, fresh, and bold staging of a Shakespearean classic.
