Laugh more! Find love! Try something new! Term 1 at The Second City Training Centre Toronto begins January 2, just in time for 2016 New Year's resolutions. Whether reaching a personal goal to be more outgoing, or partnering with a friend to try something new, The Second City Training Centre has numerous courses and drop-in programs to make the new year more funny for all.

A personal challenge for many is public speaking at work, or with a group of friends. The Public Speaking course at The Second City Training Centre helps develop speaking skills on a professional and personal level with a theoretical foundation of language, volume and tone. The classes include several opportunities to practice and refine, in addition to one-on-one coaching.

New Year's resolutions are often abandoned within a week of the clock striking midnight. So how about giving it a try first before committing? The Second City Training Centre offers a Drop-In Improv class for adults every Monday from 6:30-8:30pm, and a Teen Improv Drop In every Tuesday from 4:30-6pm. These weekly classes are a simple way to try improv for the first time in an easygoing space, or sneak in some extra practice working that funny bone.

Too nervous to try something new? The Second City Training Centre also offers Improv for Anxiety, an innovative class of ensemble-based improv to help people with social anxiety disorder overcome fear and avoidance associated with work, school, and family life. In a safe and nurturing environment, The Second City instructors lead improv exercises that are specifically chosen to address key triggers for social anxiety.

The Second City Training Centre is very proud to introduce Improv for Teens on the Spectrum. This 8-week workshop has been designed teach the fundamental skills of improv to high-functioning independent teens aged 13-19 on the Autism Spectrum. Each week the exercises will focus on the importance of eye contact, body language, supporting other people's ideas, and working together.
