Nobody knows the great Toronto music scene like NOW Magazine and this week our editors, with the help of industry experts, summon more than 30 years of expertise to choose the 50 greatest Toronto albums of all time.

In what may be our most controversial cover since the Naked Mayor, NOW's definitive list is certain to amaze and enrage. NOW plumbs this city's rich music history, highlighting everything from a lost soul classic to obscure jazz artists, solid hit makers and ear crunching punk.

NOW reached out to industry leaders, including some of TO's top musicians, for their picks. Maestro Fresh-Wes, Damian Abraham, Nav Sangha, Daniela Gesundheit, Ron Sexsmith (who'd have guessed he loves Max Webster?) and many more weigh in on the city's best all-time albums.

And what even makes a Toronto album? Does Neil Young count? What about The Band? Do we hold record sales against a star?

NOW Magazine is available every Thursday from over 3,248 free racks and boxes across the GTA, online at www.nowtoronto.com and on iPad.
