Exclusive: Katie Kerr to Star as Sophie in Confederation Centre's MAMMA MIA!

It may take place on a Greek island, but the wedding bells and music of ABBA are coming to the island province this summer.

We here at BWW are thrilled to find out that returning Charlottetown Festival favourite Katie Kerr will be trading Anne's red braids for bridal bouquets as she takes on the lead role of Sophie in their production of Mamma Mia!

Prince Edward Island audiences will be whisked away to the Greek isles to laugh and sing along with ABBA's greatest hits in this beloved show. This is not a Broadway tour or knock-off, but a brand new Canadian production, which will be cross-cast with Anne of Green Gables.

Artistic Director Adam Brazier is taking the reins as director for what promises to be a must-see, with musical direction by the incomparable Bob Foster and choreography from the always engaging Kerry Gage. The confederation Centre is also pleased to announce Tim Horton's is joining the fun as the production sponsor.

And just in time for Valentines, the festival is giving you the opportunity to win a Mamma Mia! Party Night, complete with a pair of tickets for Opening Night on June 4th, 2016, dinner for 2 at Mavor's and a night's stay at the Holman Grand Hotel.
