Anglewalk Theatre returned to the Studio Theatre at the Toronto Centre for the Arts this year with the Canadian premiere of I Love You Because, an off-Broadway modern musical twist on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. The show closes tonight, April 15.

I Love You Because is a hilarious new musical twist on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice by newcomers Joshua Salzman (music) and Ryan Cunningham (book and lyrics). Set in New York City, a young, uptight greeting card writer's life is changed when he meets a flighty photographer. Along with their eccentric friends and siblings, they learn to love each other not in spite of their faults, but because of them. Director Darcy Evans (Broadway and first U.S. National Tour of Little Women, Stratford Festival's Antony and Cleopatra, Sudbury Theatre Centre's Spelling Bee) and Musical Director Lily Ling (Soulpepper's The Fantasticks, Shaw Festival's One Touch of Venus, Acting Up Stage's The Light in the Piazza) both make their Angelwalk Theatre debuts in I Love You Because.
