Anne Hathaway Talks Singing 'Fantine' in LES MIS Film

At the end of May, theatre fans were treated to an all new trailer for the highly-anticipated LES MIS film, dominated by Anne Hathaway's rendition of 'I Dreamed a Dream' from her role as Fantine. Now Hathaway is speaking out about what is was like to play the iconic role. On singing 'I Dreamed a Dream,' she told NY Magazine: 'I apparently looked like I was ready to face the guillotines. They just kept telling me and the cast to ignore the iconic nature of Les Miz and of the song. I had to sing it as if it had never been sung or heard before.'

Its recent run in Austin, Texas was a complete sell-out as it has been wherever it goes. Seeing it one time is fabulous, but seeing it multiple times from different angles helps you to really understand the story, the theatrics and the massive talent performing on the stage.

Max Quinlan is currently starring as Marius in the 25th Anniversary U.S. National Tour of LES MISÉRABLES. Max has been with the show for 16 months. He has been playing Marius for 7 months. Max grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and got started in theatre at a very young age. He made his professional debut at 12 in Ragtime. Max attended the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music and got his degree in Music Theatre. He moved to New York and was lucky to get the chance to audition for Les Mis and has been on the road ever since.

This week also marks the debut of Timothy Gulan as Thenardier, Lauren Wiley as Cosette, and Jason Forbach as Enjolras. The all new production of Les Miserables features glorious new staging and spectacular reimagined scenery inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo. Daily Mail reports that the cast of Cameron Mackintosh and Tom Hooper's film version of the musical Les Miserables now includes Bertie Carvel (Matilda), Daniel Evans (Sunday in the Park with George) and Adrian Scarborough (Betty Blue Eyes). In addition, several cast members who have performed in stage versions of Les Miserables will star in the film including Caroline Sheen, Hadley Fraser, Killian Donnelly, Mike Jibson, Linzi Hateley, Gemma Wardle, Katy Secombe, Gina Beck, Fra Fee, Alexia Khadine and Katie Hall.

Baz Bamigboye reports that Claude-Michel Schonberg, Alain Boublil and Herbert Kretzmer wrote a song called 'Suddenly' for the movie.
