Les Miserables is an epic story about the survival of the human spirit based on Victor Hugo's novel, with one of the most memorable scores of all time. In 19th century France, Valjean is released from 19 years of unjust imprisonment. He breaks his parole hoping to start a new life, beginning a life-long struggle for redemption as he is relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert, who refuses to believe Valjean can change his ways. Finally, during the Paris student uprising of 1832, Javert must confront his ideals after Valjean spares his life.
For nearly two decades, the Youth Musical Theatre program has provided outstanding live theatrical productions, with a dynamic cast of students, ranging in age from sixth through twelfth grade from numerous schools and neighborhoods in the west San Fernando Valley. Our volunteer, non-profit theatre company’s mission is for our actors to work together to develop self-confidence and self-esteem while working towards a complex and concrete goal: an outstanding theatrical production!
