Chris Isaak Brings His Rockabilly-Influenced Music to the Civic Arts Plaza November 29
Back by popular demand, the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza presents Chris Isaak at the Fred Kavali Theatre on Friday, November 29, 2013 at 8:00 p.m.
As entertaining as he is talented, Isaak performs one of the best live shows around. With his crazy costumes, wisecracking humor and sultry voice, he moves easily from rockabilly to blues to rock-and-roll, proving he is one of the great musicians of the last 30 years.
A self taught guitar player, Isaak shot to prominence with the Top 10 song Wicked Game. His Gold and Platinum-selling albums feature hits such as Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing, Somebody's Crying, and Forever Blue.
In addition to his musical career, Isaak has made numerous film appearances, including Married to the Mob, Silence of the Lambs and Twin Peaks:Fire Walk with Me.
Isaak returns to Thousand Oaks with a new record in his discography - Beyond the Sun which is truly a labor of love. As a child spinning his parents 45's in their California home, Isaak has been obsessed with the glory days of Sun Studios in Memphis and the artists who got their starts there - including Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis. Isaak has acted on this lifelong obsession, magically recapturing the transformative hepcat brilliance of the classic sides cut by these artists, while also getting down to the heart and soul of his own deeply rooted musical identity.
His performance at the Thousand Oaks Civic Plaza will feature songs from his newest album, popular hits from his catalog as well as some holiday favorites.
