Scottsdale Musical Theater Company is proud to present the Arizona premiere of the musical revue SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM with a cast of some of the Valley's best talent.

The octet includes four-time Zoni Award-winner Matt Newhard, Marina Blue Jarrette (SMTC's The Producers, Phoenix Theatre's Anything Goes), Alex Crossland (SMTC's Gypsy), Michael Schauble (Arizona Theatre Company's Emma), Chelsea Janzen (Hale Centre Theatre's 9 to 5), Lindsay Newhard, Nicole Bond and Curtis Moeller who is also serving as Music Director.

The production will be directed by Zoni Award-winner Hector Coris (Hale Centre Theatre's Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) and the live orchestra will be conducted by Kevin Hayward.

Weaving actual video interviews with the legendary composer himself, SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM provides a fresh perspective into Stephen Sondheim's illustrious career from his biggest hits to his earlier works and earlier versions of songs from his famous musicals. The cast of eight will present some of Sondheim's best -- and obscure -- songs. This is the first time this show -- first produced on Broadway in 2010 -- has ever been presented in Arizona.

This limited engagement will take place tonight, October 29, through October 31st at Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway, Tempe, AZ 85281. Tickets are $32 - $42 and may be ordered at (602) 909-4215 or through the SMTC website www.ScottsdaleMusicalTheater.com. The performance schedule is Thursday Oct 29 @ 7:30PM, Friday Oct 30 @ 7:30PM and Saturday, Oct 31 @ 2:00PM.

SMTC prides itself on "bringing Broadway's favorites back to life", presenting full, large-scale productions of Broadway musicals in their original forms, as they were meant to be seen. Utilizing professional sets and costumes, great local talent and a full live orchestra, SMTC has been called "the best theatre company in the Valley when it comes to producing classic musicals."
