RAISE Repertory Ensemble, in association with The Acting Studio, presents "The Burnt Part Boys".

This wonderful musical, by the creative team that brought the world the Broadway musical, Tuck Everlasting, takes the audience on a journey to the mountains of mid-century West Virginia and the challenges of a family dealing with the aftermath of a coal mining disaster 10 years before.

As the musical begins, a situation forces 15 year-old "Pete" to lead his brother, his best friends and a cast of fictional characters inspired by the classic Western film, The Alamo, on an emotional and stirring quest to make sense of his life. The darker themes are offset by the humorous relationship of "Pete" and "Dusty" and an inspiring score that provides a soaring, bluegrass-flavored musical backdrop that sets the show firmly in the heart of the Smoky Mountains. This is a not-to-be-missed opportunity and we are thrilled to share this production with the Tampa Bay area.

The production will take place at The Acting Studio second campus, 5253 Ehrlich Rd, Lutz 33624, on Friday the 19th at 8, Saturday the 20th at 2 and 8, Thursday the 25th at 8, Friday the 26th at 8 and Saturday the 27th at 2 and 8. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students and seniors and can be purchased by calling 813-679-4810 or at the door.
