Elvis Impersonator, Noel Paul Stookey, et al. Perform at Palladium 2/2-18

The Palladium Theater at St. Petersburg College fosters artistically and culturally diverse performing arts, educational and film programs that bring artists and audiences together in a first-class, yet affordable theater setting. Their February events include:

"Can’t Help Falling in Love with Chris MacDonald’s Memories of Elvis" plays on Saturday, February 11 at 8pm. Presented in part by Biltmore Construction. This is the only tribute artist hired by Elvis Presley Enterprises to perform at Graceland’s Heartbreak Hotel for seven consecutive years. The Palladium encourages patrons to bring their valentine to this show for a big Las Vegas-style show with orchestra, dancers and singers as Chris MacDonald leads the celebration which highlights several stages of the iconic King of Rock ‘N’ Roll’s career. This is MacDonald’s only Tampa Bay appearance.

Noel Paul Stookey, of "Peter, Paul and Mary" will perform on Saturday, February 18 at 8pm presented in part by WEDU Public Broadcasting. He is one of America’s most gifted composers and lyricists, and returns to the Palladium, bringing his signature music and storytelling.

Russian Rapture: The Music of Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff will play February 10 at 8pm, featuring Jeffrey Siegel, Keyboard Conversations. Whisking audiences on a journey across the globe, performing breathtaking works by two of the greatest Russian composers of all time, Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky, Siegel presents a rapturous performance of soaring melodies and sumptuous sonorities of these ever-popular composers – the colorful Preludes, captivating Etudes, and the scintillating Humoresque. Hailed by the Chicago Tribune as “the Leonard Bernstein of the piano,” Siegel charms both piano aficionados and novices alike with his illuminating and witty commentary and astounding musical gifts.

Nate Najar Trio, Side Door Jazz will play Thursday, February 2 at 7:30pm. Tampa Bay favorite Najar returns with his trio to the all-new Side Door Cabaret. Great new look and sound in Tampa Bay’s best, most intimate candlelit listening room where audiences get up close and personal with their favorite jazz, blues, rock, acoustic artists and more!

Roy Book Binder in concert, Side Door Blues plays February 3 at 8pm. Roy Book Binder is a singing, songwriting, storytelling, fingerpicking guitar blues legend. His eclectic repertoire includes blues, country, bluegrass, folk, and popular songs. Book Binder travelled with The Rev. Gary Davis in the 60s, rediscovered Pink Anderson and revived his career in the 70s. Jorma Kaukonen included Book Binder’s songs on his some of his most recent recordings. Book Binder has toured with Bonnie Raitt, JJ Cale, and Hot Tuna, appeared at the Chicago Blues Festival, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, King Biscuit Blues Festival and the Philadelphia Folk Festival. This is Book Binder’s only Tampa Bay appearance.

Ennis: Traditional Newfoundland Celtic, at the Side Door plays February 9, at 7:30pm. Presented by Caberfeidh Productions. Formerly the Ennis sisters, Maureen (singer-songwriter, acoustic guitar) and Karen (vocals, acoustic guitar, mandolin, tin whistles), Ennis is a dynamic, JUNO-award winning group with a unique contemporary voice flavored with deep Celtic roots.
