Australian comedy icon Jane Turner (Kath & Kim) and Logie Award-winning Brenna Harding (Puberty Blues) play mother and daughter in Jumpy, a refreshingly candid and funny family drama which charts the perils of growing up and growing old. The Australian premiere of April De Angelis' West End hit is directed by Pamela Rabe, opening at the Drama Theatre, Sydney Opera House on Saturday 28 March 2015, preceded by a run at Melbourne Theatre Company from 31 January to 14 March 2015.

Jane Turner makes her STC debut as Hilary, a one-time ardent feminist now coming to terms with middle age, a stale marriage and uncertain employment prospects, with only chardonnay to turn to for solace. Her mutinous fifteen year-old daughter, Tilly (Brenna Harding) makes home-life a hormonal battlefield chequered by rebellion, promiscuity and sneering maternal contempt. Equally worrying is Hilary's best friend Frances (Marina Prior) and her excruciating attempts to stay young.

Rounding out the cast of this domestic comedy is Caroline Brazier (Don's Party), David Tredinnick (The Secret Life of Us), Laurence Boxhall (Deadline Gallipoli), John Lloyd Fillingham (Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries), Tariro Mavondo (Winners and Losers) and Dylan Watson (Unbroken).

April De Angelis is a British playwright and librettist. Her play Jumpy premiered at the Royal Court Theatre in 2012 to critical acclaim and is currently being developed as a television series. De Angelis' other work includes A Gloriously Mucky Business, Calais, Country, Playhouse Creatures, Wild East, A Laughing Matter, The Warwickshire Testimony, The Positive Hour, an adaptation of Wuthering Heights, and Catch, which was a collaboration with four other female playwrights for Royal Court. Her librettos include Flight for Glyndebourne Opera and The Silent Twins for Almeida Theatre.

Pamela Rabe's directing credits for STC include In the Next Room (or the vibrator play), Elling and Citizens (part of a double bill by Daniel Keene). She has appeared on STC stages many times, most recently in Les Liaisons Dangereuses.
