Factory Space Theatre Company is bringing to Sydney for the first time ever the brilliant play Sister Cities, led by an entirely female cast and director.

Recipe for a modern comedy:

Take 4 half sisters who disagree about almost everything; fold in 1 ghost; add lots of quirky word play, much pink underwear and a spider. Heat well as they try to deal with unexpected death.

Serve with a warm prelude of sex, death and chocolate.

Sister Cities is written by acclaimed American writer Colette Freedman, and is currently being made into a Hollywood film starring Jacki Weaver.

An enlightening piece of black comedy with witty dialogue and surprising plot twists, the play follows four estranged sisters, each fathered by a different man, returning to their family home after the sudden death of their mother.

The intelligent quirky play does not shy away from controversy whilst capturing the complexity of modern family relationships.

Sister Cities is directed by the artistic director of FSTC, Roz Riley. "Sister Cities" was first seen by the FSTC when it was presented at the Edinburgh festival, as was "Shakespeare's Queens", which Roz directed there and subsequently in London's West End.
