Two banjos and one voice - get ready to join us for a magical night at City Recital Hall on 15 August. Husband and wife duo and long-time lauded artists in their own right, Béla Fleck and Abigail Washburn are an unstoppable force. With 16 Grammy Awards between them, and together taking out Best Folk Album at the 2016 awards, they bring their revered compositions, old-school takes and angelic sounds to City Recital Hall.

The duo will perform at City Recital Hall in Sydney on Monday 15 August, following dates in Melbourne and Adelaide. Tickets are on sale now.

With a set spanning appalachian murder ballads, gospel, chamber and blues, Fleck has a world-famous career behind him. His riveting and virtuosic musicianship has seen him collaborate with Chick Corea, Oumou Sangare, Zakir Hussain, Edgar Meyer, Dave Mathews, Earl Scruggs, and with several full symphony orchestras for his Banjo Concert 'The Impostor'.

Washburn's banjo has taken her far beyond the usual old-timey comfort zone, both musically and geographically. An alumnus of Uncle Earl, the powerhouse all-female stringband, Washburn's adopted second homeland is China, and you can hear this deep cultural influence in her music.

With the birth of their son in 2013, Fleck and Washburn began a new era together and have toured steadily as a duo since (sometimes affectionately referred to as a 'trio'). Their first album together debuted at #1 on the Billboard Bluegrass charts.
