The Swedish current Miss Saigon ensemble member and Gigi understudy, Marsha Songcome takes over the role of Gigi Van Tranh in Claude-Michel Schonberg & Alain Boublil's MISS SAIGON from 14 December 2015 until the closing date 27 February 2016 at the Prince Edward Theatre in London. She succeeds Australian actress Natalie Mendoza.

Songcome's theatre credits includes: Jasmin's Attendant in Disney's ALADDIN the Musical (European Premiere, Fredericia Teater and Copenhagen Royal Opera House, Denmark), Rizzo in GREASE (Kalmar, Sweden), lead soloist for the German AIDA cruiseship and recently, MISS SAIGON (Malmö Opera, Sweden).

MISS SAIGON tells the tragic tale of a doomed romance involving a 17 year old Vietnamese bar girl and an older American G.I set in the 1970s during the final days of the Vietnam War.

It premiered in the West End at the theatre Roya, Drury Lane on 20 September 1989 and closed after 4,264 performances on 30 October 1999. The musical débuted on Broadway at the Broadway Theatre on 11 April 1991 and closed on 28 January 2001 after 4,092 performances. As of September 2015, Miss Saigon is still the 13th longest-running Broadway musical in musical theatre history.
