Undergraduates concentrate in one of the following three areas: Acting/Directing, Dance, or Design and Technical Theatre. Graduate students (MA program) can concentrate on Directing, Theory, Performance, or Technical Production and Design; however MA students are not required to choose a concentration. Students of the combined BA/MPA program should declare their interest as early as possible, preferably in their freshman or sophomore year. A Theatre Minor is also available. The ultimate outcome of theatre education is to enable students to observe, illuminate, and effectively communicate through the medium of theatrical art, fundamental truths about the broad spectra of human experience.
