God of Carnage
Schwartz Center, Black Box Theatre
God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza, recently performed on Broadway and adapted for the screen by Roman Polanski, is a play that investigates what happens when modern suburban manners get in the way of true aggressive feelings and confrontation. Two affluent couples meet to discuss a fight between their two children where one knocked out the other's tooth, and what ensues is a brilliant exposure of the power of subtext and the hilarity of how far some adults may go to maintain "composure" that they claim neither of their children (whom we never actually see) have.
